Since it appears to share common components with the BV250 possibly that service manual would probably suffice for most services. The engine gaskets, belts, etc appear to all be the same as the 250 available the same year.Since it appears to share common components with the BV250 possibly that service manual would probably suffice for most services. I do want to say that your note seemed to imply that I was being a cheapscape when that was not the case at all. You might want to make sure you have all the facts before you talk down to someone. Just a suggestion. If Piaggio releases these to the public that would be another matter. Regardless of whether AF1 had them or not, getting these references from a scalper site is not something that I will endorse. My nephew tried telling a judge once that he had not done wrong because someone else stole it first. Judge did not accept that argument and then proceded to sentence him.Had one been available, I would have bought it. Thanks, Sorry for any confusion. The first is a most valuable class of person who is truly an expert and who is on here to help others; not for his ego's sake. The second seems to be the people who have confused living on a forum with being important and who feed their egos by telling others what to do.

Seriously, all I wanted was for someone to tell me where I could get a manual and I got two lectures on morals and business ethics. Geeze. Some people. By the way, the deal this morning fell through. The scoot was represented glowingly and yet was a total turd so I no longer need the manual. If anyone reading this knows of a good SportCity 250 or BV200 or 250 that is a cream puff and is priced right, send them my way. BTW, I am in the Atlanta area so it would be nice to find one in the SE. Sorry I took offense to all of this but I found what happened offensive. VicWhen you get the honest answer don't lower the bar with name calling and profanity. Anyway I told you honestly why I do not endorse scalper sites when you lamented that you wanted to get a manual from one but could not find one and then pressed for more information on why which I answered pointing you to an ethical alternative which AF1 has also done. Sorry you got a bad example of a BV200 as most I know who do have them absolutely love them. One member rode his GT200 (same basic engine) packed with camping gear from Tampa to the North end of the AlCan Highway and back on one trip. Most folks with the Sport City are not parting with them unless they bought one and never rode it but they are out there. In Georgia you are probably facing the accelerated deterioration of rubber products like we do here further South of you so do not take chances with old rubber (especially tires) on 6 to 11 year old bikes. Note that low mileage old bikes are usually going to need remediation due to lack of use so that low mileage cream puff may be a little sour.I did not ask for your opinion on that and certainly didn't appreciate it. Sending me to AF1 without the lecture would have been the more reasonable thing to do. In this case, had you done that, I would have simply told you that I had already spoken with AF1 and what they said.

I would have also told you that I had already called a Piaggio dealer to see if they could order me a factory manual and was told no. Having exhausted the opportunity to purchase a manual, the very nice Scalper Supporter Skunkhome, as you have labeled him, came to my rescue. Here is my opinion on the copyright infringment issue. If one buys an expensive vehicle and wants to do his own work, he should be able to purchase a factory manual. If, for whatever reason, the manufacturer has ceased to make them available for purchase, then if someone scans an old one and makes that available, I do not consider that an ethical breach. I would have purchased a manual but couldn't so the scanned one filled the gap. The last scooter I had was a SYM HD200 and exactly that was the case. The previous distributor, Carter Brothers, sold a few manuals but when they went belly up, the new distributor in America decided not to make them available so that (hopefully) more people would go to dealers for service. All that did was piss off the owners and precipitate scanned copies of the few that were floating around. This was no ethical breach in my book. You were the only one talking about being a cheapskate. The reason even the owners manuals are now harder to download (Aprilia did openly post them in the recent past) is due to these scalper sites being supported because it was considered too difficult to do otherwise such as call Piaggio or Aprilia on the phone and talk to a support rep about an account or a link to an owners booklet, manual or diagram. Now they have taken all free resources directly from Piaggio and Aprilia aside from the sales brochures down because of this so it is more difficult for the rest of us who do not support scalpers. People who do not think and support these scalper sites are perpetuating the problem. They present every rationalization in the book stating an overriding personal need however it is still not the right thing to do.

Where I am employed it is considered such a serious breech of ethics that it can lead to dismissal (loss of employment) if you promote or endorse this even in your personal life. I do not apologize a second time to those who denigrate to profanity period, you got a first sorry about that and then after that apology pushed more about a manual from an unauthorized source which I answered letting you know that I will not enter or tolerate a discussion about engaging in copyright infringement. You then start cussing and that is the end of it. Let it go and do not push any more talk about materials from unauthorized sources as I will not endorse or discuss them in a favorable light. With over 150 million sold to date globally, Haynes is a recognized repair manual brand customers return to again and again. Haynes Manuals are the ultimate DIY guide books for all powersport vehicles. As one of the most widely read repair books in the world, Haynes Manuals span the powersport industry. Their manuals are available in both print and online editions under the Haynes and Clymer brands, and there is an extensive selection of repair books, written in both English and Spanish. Every manual is written from thorough hands-on experience based on a complete teardown, which is the step-by-step procedure for dismantling a vehicle or piece of equipment part-by-part. This is followed by the detailed rebuilding of the machine. Manual information is presented in a style that any DIYer can follow, even a beginner. Writing each manual takes 30 weeks, with authors working as teams to shorten the production time and to avoid fatigue during the difficult process. Hundreds of photographs accompany the step-by-step instructions. He wrote two more special builders manuals while doing his National Service in the RAF. The first Haynes Manual for the Austin Healey Frogeye Sprite was published in 1965. Based on the teardown and rebuild of that project vehicle and with extensive use of step-by-step photographs—a process that has not changed to this day—this manual set the standard for many generations to follow. This simple but important philosophy differentiates Haynes from other repair manual companies.

With over 50 years of experience in this market sector, they have deeply embedded processes, built-in expertise, and procedure-driven efficiencies which help give Haynes its unique identity. By using a Haynes, Clymer, or Chilton Manual, DIYers can save both time and money, and feel proud of the job they personally did without having to rely on expensive tools or additional outside expertise. It was first introduced as the BV 200 for the 2003 model year, which was the same year Piaggio started selling scooters under their own name in the USA. In future years, the BV200 grew to the BV250, BV300 and now to the BV350 (shown below), which remains on sale as of 2019. Its successor the BV250 (below in navy) was introduced for 2006 and sold through 2010 in the USA (2009 in Canada). So these two scooters were sold alongside each other for 2006 and 2007, enabling Piaggio to clear out the remaining 200 models while offering the nicely updated BV250 at a premium. It was nearly identical to the BV250 it replaced with the main change being a displacement bump from 244cc to 278cc.A year later it did the same in Canada, with a spring 2013 arrival heralded as a 2014 model. The BV350 was a mostly new scooter in both style and substance. Overseas its used a longer title: Beverly Sport Touring 350, while in North America it’s commonly referred to as simply the BV 350. This scooter was an entirely different beast than the smaller BV’s. It used Piaggio’s powerful 492cc MASTER engine and offered limitless highway capability. This engine was a larger (198cc) version of the 150cc LEADER motor used in Vespa’s LX 150. For 2006, Vespa had a new motor ready for their large frame scooters called the QUASAR motor. With its introduction, the Vespa GT200 became the GTS 250, and Piaggio added it to the BV as the BV250 for ’06. The BV300 was introduced for 2011 and used a larger 278cc version of the QUASAR motor. The QUASAR motors achieved solid power (ie. 22 hp for 244cc), great emissions and average fuel milage for a scooter of this size (around 60 mpg in the real world). Top speed for the BV200 is about 75 mph, while the 250 and 300 can do up to 80 mph.

This engine is a generous 330cc and cranks a strong 33.3 HP and 23.8 ft lbs of torque, which is 50 more than the BV250 and within 6 ponies of the heavier BV500. The torque curve is low and flat, so this motor feels strong across the board all the way to 90mph. The CVT transmission is also new and uses a number of clutch plates in an oil bath instead of the traditional dry clutch pad setup. This engine cranks out 39 horsepower at 7500 RPM, which is enough power for highway driving of any style and typically achieves 50mpg in the real world. The smaller BV models can hold their own on the highway, but the BV500 is the one to have if you’re not just looking to survive on the highway but to actually drive at whatever speed you want and pass cars at will These large wheels give the BV scooters stable handling at high speeds and smoother ride on bumpy roads. The BV500 is in a fairly unique niche, with the Aprilia Scarabeo 500 being the only other large wheeled scooter of this engine size without getting into scooters with the maxi-scooter look. So the BV500 was really the only option at the time for someone wanting a large scooter (ie.When it originally debuted as the BV200, the BV had a fairly modern headlight design (shown in silver). When the BV500 was introduced for 2005 it brought with it an updated look that was a less modern and more classic and timeless. The headlight became round and it was moved up to the headset. The front of the legshield area received a new look with some nice chrome work and vents. Both designs are nice, but the newer one is the nicer look. The smaller BV200 continued with its original styling until it was dropped after 2007. The BV250 also received this original style, but for the 2009 model year the BV250 was overhauled and it received the timeless look of its larger sibling. The BV300 and 350 also share this styling, as they are essentially a BV250 with a larger cylinder.

The BV300 was updated for 2011 with a few tweaks like bigger brakes. The Beverly scooters come with a modestly sized windscreen and a great amount of storage in the underseat and glovebox areas. There’s not multiple cubby holes or a center console like some maxi-scooters, but the main bases are covered and the BV scooters should be quite comfortable to live with. The BV scooters do have a handy 12 volt accessory socket under the seat. All BV models also have disc brakes front and rear, but the BV500 took it a step further with dual discs up front, which perform quite a bit better at highway speeds. The BV500 is for someone who really wants to spend a lot of time on the highway. With a 100 mph top speed and dual disc brakes up front, you should have no troubles enjoying yourself on the open roads. It’s a good choice for someone who wants a scooter with no power limitations, but they don’t want to go with a maxi-scooter style. Our library is the biggest of these that have literally hundreds of thousands of different products represented.
